Educational policy: homework

Children take books home to share with their parents as soon as they enter school. This is the very beginning of a regular homework routine. Written homework is gradually introduced from Year 1 (age 6) and this homework should take about fifteen to twenty minutes. This increases as the child progresses through the school but homework should not be a major burden and parents are asked to keep in close contact with the class teacher if there are any signs of problems.

The school works in partnership with parents, who are actively encouraged to support their child at home in supervising the homework assignment.

A message book system is used to ensure that the home and the school are fully aware of each other's requirements and comments.
