How to register your child
Children normally enter the school in the Autumn term unless a place becomes available at other times. They usually start at age 3+ in the school's youngest class, the Nursery although occasionally places become available for older children to start in the school's more senior forms.
Parents are asked to make an appointment to visit the school as soon as is convenient after the birth of their child and they are usually shown round the school by the headmistress in small groups. At this appointment parents are invited to complete a registration form, which, when returned to the school, will ensure that their child is registered for entry to the school in the particular year when their child is expected to start at Prospect House.
Admission
The school tries, as far as possible, to keep an equal balance of boys and girls. Subject to this, places are allocated on the basis of date of registration, with priority being given to the younger brothers and sisters of children already at the school, provided such younger siblings were registered within one month of birth or no later than the admission of the older child. Firm places are offered approximately fifteen months before the date of entry to the school.
The acceptance of the school's offer has to be accompanied by a payment on account of half the first term's fees at the rate for the academic year then current. This is followed by a further payment, approximately eight months before the child's admission, of the same amount. On admission of their child, parents pay the small balance of the fees at the increased rate then likely to be prevailing and a deposit of £1,000. This deposit is returned when the child leaves the school, subject to the school having been given a full term's written notice of the child's withdrawal.
